2 March 2015 – The estimated number of people killed in eastern Ukraine since April 2014 has now passed the 6,000* mark, in spite of successive ceasefires, the UN Human Rights Office announced Monday, saying the escalation in fighting in recent weeks, particularly near Donetsk airport and in the Debaltseve area, resulted in hundreds of deaths, both civilian and military, and an untenable situation for those trapped or held hostage in the areas controlled by armed groups.
Kyiv, 25 February 2015 - The Government of Ukraine and the European Union, United Nations and the World Bank Group presented the findings of an eastern Ukraine Recovery and Peacebuilding Assessment (RPA) report. The report provides the baseline information about the urgent needs for recovery and peacebuilding in eastern Ukraine.

Kyiv, 24 February 2015 - The Humanitarian Community launched the Humanitarian Response Plan 2015 for Ukraine today. The plan targets 3.2 million most vulnerable people over the five million estimated to be in need of humanitarian assistance across the country, and appealed the international community to generously contributed to fund the USD 316 million dollars required to carry out a wide range of life-saving interventions including food and household items distribution, provision of healthcare and psychosocial interventions, to provision of shelter to warm clothing, and basic education.
GENEVA/KYIV, 19 February 2015 – The United Nations delivered 62 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Donetsk today. This includes essential hygiene items, warm clothes, blankets, condensed milk powder, drinking water, and medical supplies procured by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Children`s Fund (UNICEF), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
17 February 2015 – The United Nations Security Council today adopted a resolution endorsing the 13-point accord on ending the Ukraine crisis agreed in Minsk – including a cease-fire – and called on all parties to the conflict to fully implement that cessation of hostilities, as the UN human rights office expressed concern over reported shelling and trapped civilians in the country’s east.
17 February 2015 - Since the beginning of the conflict in mid-April 2014 and until 15 February, 5,665 people were killed and 13,961 were wounded in the east of Ukraine. This is the data available at this point. The UN Human Rights Mission in Ukraine and the World Health Organization anticipate a further increase in figures in the coming days because reporting on casualties during the pre-ceasefire period was considerably delayed due to ongoing hostilities.
