On the 14th-15th of November 2005 the conference “Ukraine: Business and Economical Priorities” was organized and held by the Centre of International Private Entrepreneurship in Kyiv. Iryna Akimova – the Director of UNDP Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre took part in the conference and made presentation in the section “International Experience of Economic Reforms and Lessons for Ukraine”. For the first time in Ukraine the Day of Microcrediting was hold by All-Ukrainian Youth Non-Governmental organization “Counsil of Young Entrepreneurs” altogether with the company “Euro index” with the support of UNDP Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre and with participation of representatives of legislative and executive power, local governments as well as representatives of National Bank of Ukraine and leading commercial banks of Ukraine on the 11th of November 2005 under the banner of the announced by the United Nations Year of Micro crediting in the frame of the Exhibition “ Money EXPO 2005”.

Text of the manual on the issues of mickrocredit development in Ukraine "Macroeffects from Mickrocredits" that was prepared by the Council of Young Entrepreneurs and issued with the support of UNDP Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre and Ministry of Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine is available in the Ukrainian version.

UNDP Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre with support of internet portal www.VlasnaSprava.info and Information Agency “Interfax –Ukraine” held Internet Conference on the topic: “Sound Regulatory Policy for Improvement of Investment Climate in Ukraine”. The Round table for discussion of the Concept of Tax System Reform in Ukraine took place on the 10th of October 2005.

It was organised by Secretariat of the President of Ukraine; The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine; The State Committee of Ukraine on Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship; UNDP Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre, Centre for Social and Economic Research CASE Ukraine; The Institute of Competitive Society.

The Concept of Tax Reform that had been developed by advisors and scientific consultants of the President of Ukraine was presented for discussion on the Round table session as well as alternative concepts that had been developed by governmental and non governmental organizations.

On September 14 in Rivne and October 5 in Uzhgorod the training events “Implementing Principles of Budget Accountability and Transparency in Budget Process: International Standards and Regional Aspects of Ukraine” were organized by “Integrity in Action: Governance Programme” together with UNDP Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Center and Accounting Chamber of Ukraine jointly with oblast partners – Rivne Oblast Council and Rivne Oblast State Administration, Zakarpatska Oblast Council and Zakarpatska Oblast State Administration.

Presentation of Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre for International Community in Ukraine took place in Kyiv ( Radisson SAS Hotel) on October 3, 2005

Francis M. O’Donnell, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System and UNDP Resident Representative opened meeting with welcome remarks.

The Presentation of Blue Ribbon Analytical and Advisory Centre and related activities was made by Iryna Akimova, Director of the Centre.

National partner, Volodymyr Lanovy, Advisor to the President of Ukraine followed up with comments and then the discussion of the Presentation took place.
