14 April 2017, On April 10, 2017 the United Nations Office for Project Services opened its operational presence in Ukraine.

The Office was established in response to the request from the Ukrainian leadership. This  was followed by signing the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the United Nations Office for Project Services on the Establishment of the UNOPS Office in the country. The Office has an extended mandate and will provide a wide range of services to the Government, international development agencies, IFIs and people of Ukraine.

On top of the usual UNOPS services menu (procurement, infrastructural project implementation and personnel management), the Office in Ukraine is mandated by the Government and committed to extend UNOPS' services to investment and loan-based projects and programmes in the country.

UNOPS Office is headed by Armen Chobanyan, Head of Programme/ERC at the UNOPS Geneva. The Office is based in Kyiv at 10, Lypska Street.
