Kyiv, June 20, 2006 - Today United Nations Open Doors information event took place in UN House in Kyiv. UN Open doors is ongoing initiative aimed to gather in one place the representatives of the universities, schools, public libraries and information centres in order to present and disseminate the latest publications of the UN agencies and projects through the libraries' network.

During this event, more then 40 librarians had a chance to learn more about UN actiovities in Ukraine and abroad, to talk to Communication Officers of several UN agencies including UNICEF, UNDP and World Bank. Numerous UN publications and brochures
were presented to the participants and distributed. The event was attended by: UN Depositary Fund of National Vernadsky Library; Ukrainian-American Liberal Arts Institute Wisconsin International University(USA) Ukraine, Scientific library of Kyiv Slavic University, Sientific Library of Hydrobiology Institute, Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, State historical library of Ukraine, Kyiv National Linguistic University, National Children's Library of Ukraine and many others.
