Kyiv, 4 December 2007 - The National Assembly of Disabled People of Ukraine initiated the round table discussion "UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled People and the Council of Europe Plan on people with physical disabilities: national implementation - from policy to practice". UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Francis O'Donnell took part in this discussion on the best world and European knowledge and practices to address challenges of disabled people as well as on elaboration of recommendations and further actions to be taken in Ukraine.

3 December, 2007. Kyiv, Ukraine: On observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko headed the All-Ukrainian meeting of the state authorities and public organizations working with disabled "Ukraine without Barriers". December 1, 2007 - On the World AIDS Day UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for renewed leadership in eradicating stigma associated with HIV.

Kyiv, Ukraine. 30 November 2007 - Special Envoy of UN Secretary-General for HIV/AIDS in Eastern Europe Lars Kallings visits Ukraine in the threshold of the World AIDS Day. During the media briefing, he emphasized that the AIDS epidemic in Ukraine is now the most severe epidemic of any country in Europe and call for actions.

This International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People comes at a time when Palestinians continue to suffer the indignities and violence of occupation and conflict, but also at a time when a new beginning has been made in efforts to achieve a two State solution to the conflict, stated UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol were adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 13 December 2006, and opened for signature on 30 March 2007.  The Convention was negotiated during eight sessions of an Ad Hoc Committee of the General Assembly from 2002 to 2006, making it  the fastest negotiated human rights treaty. The Convention aims to ensure that persons with disabilities enjoy human rights on an equal basis with others. Brasilia – Kyiv, 27 November 2007: How the world deals with climate change today will have a direct bearing on the human development prospects of a large section of humanity. Failure will consign the poorest 40 percent of the world’s population – some 2.6 bn people – to a future of diminished opportunity. This finding has been released in the new UN Development Programme’s Human Development Report ‘Fighting climate change: Human solidarity in a divided world’ which was officially presented by Francis M. O’DONNELL, UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine and Vitaliy NAKHLUPIN, Chairman of the National Agency for Ecological Investments.

The third All-Ukrainian conference "Partnership of non-governmental organisations and State Criminal-executive service of Ukraine to respond to the spread of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in the penitentiary settings and among those released from prisons" took place in Puscha-Vodytsya, Kiev, on the 22-24 of November, 2007.

Kyiv, 23 November. UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Francis O'Donnell and Ambassador of Turkey Mr. Erdogan Iscan met with the students of the Institute of International Relations. This discussion was organized in the framework of the global Tolerance Day celebrated by the initiative of the UNESCO General Conference. Honored guests delivered brief lectures on tolerance, social acceptance, and philosophy of peace and answered the questions of students.

Kyiv, 22 November: On the threshold of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the press-club “No to Violence in Ukrainian Society” was conducted. Initiated within the framework of “16 Days Against Violence” action, this event was dedicated to analysis of the implementation of Law of Ukraine “On prevention of family violence” and elaboration of recommendations on further activity in elimination of all forms of violence.

New York, 19 November 2007-The United Nations General Assembly is today expected to adopt a resolution proclaiming the period to 2016 as a "decade of recovery and sustainable development" for territories in Belarus, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine that were affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident. The goal of the decade is "a return to normal life" for affected communities. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been tasked with drafting a unified UN action plan and coordinating UN work on the decade.

16 Novewmber, 2007. Commemorating the International Day for Tolerance today, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Francis O'Donnell stressed in his statement that only tolerance can ensure the survival of mixed communities in every region of the globe and leaders of all States should work harder at eliminating all forms of intolerance including racism and xenophobia.

November 15, 2007. The United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) announces the second call for proposals of innovative projects targeted at developing and strengthening democratic institutions, promoting human rights and ensuring all groups participation in the democratic process. Established in 2005 as a United Nations General Trust Fund, UNDEF aims to provide strategic support to catalyze democracy and human rights initiatives around the world.

A joint World Health Organisation (WHO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine (MOH) press conference will take place on 15 November 2007 to provide media with the “first hand” information on the measles and rubella vaccination campaign scheduled for April 2008 in Ukraine.
