Gender stereotypes hinder gender equality in Ukraine, UNDP-backed poll says
In Ukrainian society certain positive changes concerning the implementation of equality principles between women and men have been taking place in all sectors of life. However, following a thorough assessment of the development of Ukrainian legislation in line with guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities for women and men, the overall progress in other constituent parts within state gender policy is still estimated rather low in Ukrainian society, according to new research “Gender stereotypes and public attitude to gender problems in Ukrainian society”.

UNDP offers human rights, HIV/AIDS training sessions to leaders of refugees’ communities
Odessa, 13-15 August: A UNDP-led Project “Governance of HIV/AIDS” has organized a training entitled “Human Rights and HIV” for leaders of refugees’ communities residing in the city’s temporary shelter for refugees. The participants discussed a number of questions and defined further steps helping raise HIV awareness among their communities in Ukraine.
