31, October, Verkhovna Rada. The traditional Information Fair of UN agencies publications took place in the Ukrainian Parliament. This Fair was conducted in the frameworks of UN Days conducted in the Verkhovna Rada every year, which also included meeting of Un Country team with the Chairman of the Parliament and series of discussions in the respective Committees of Verkhovna Rada among the UN experts and MPs.
Information Fair of UN Agencies publications has already became a tradition in the calendars of Verkhovna Rada and UN System in Ukraine. During the event UN system representatives had the possibility to present their activities, achievements and share printed materials. All agencies and projects who participated had very interesting and sustainable publications. Among them one could find Doing Business in Ukraine -2006 produced by World Bank and International Finance Corporation. Also, Global Human Development Report 2005 and analytical report "Humanitarian Consequences of Chornobyl Catastrophe. Strategy for Recovery" were presented by the United Nations Development Programme. Besides, the new collection of international treaties on assistance in criminal cases published by the International Organization for Migration and General Prosecutor Office of Ukraine and a series of publications by UNICEF "State of women and children in Ukraine". The participants of the Fair had a chance to learn more about UN activities in Ukraine from the leaflets, brochures, survey and reports presented by UNAIDS, UNFPA, UNHCR. The United Nations Assistance Framework for Cooperation (UNDAF) signed with the Government of Ukraine for 2006-2010 was also introduced during the event.
