UN supports Government of Ukraine in conducting 2008 national survey on monitoring the Paris Declaration in Ukraine

In September 2008, ministers from all countries, heads of development agencies and civil society organizations from around the world will gather in Accra for the Third High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (2-4 September). Expectations are that the Forum will agree on an Accra Action Agenda identifying concrete steps to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Declaration.

In the run-up to the Accra High-Level Forum, a survey is being organized from 2 January 2008 to 31 March 2008. The 2008 Survey is designed to do two things. First, the results of the survey will provide an important contribution for assessing progress at the Accra High-Level Forum.

Second, and even more significantly, the survey will contribute to tangible improvements in the way aid is delivered in partner countries taking part in the survey.

The Government of Ukraine has decided to take part in this survey to evaluate country's progress towards implementation of Paris Declaration Principles. The UN is appointed by the Government as the Donor Focal Point assisting and supporting the Government's National Coordinator (Ministry of Economy, Department for Coordination of International Technical Assistance) in managing this survey. This role includes:

- Collect survey data from all donors; and

- Consolidate donors' survey data in the Country Spreadsheet.

A UN team has been set up to support National Coordinator and act as country help desk for donors.  Ms. Ruken Tekes Calikusu (UN Coordination Specialist) will be leading the team with the support of Ms. Yulia Snizhko (WB, Portfolio Analyst) for the country report preparation and indicators related with procurement and Mr. Harald Bredesen (UN Programme Development Officer) for the data collection and preparation of Country Spreadsheet.

The Donors providing Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Ukraine are kindly invited to complete the questionnaire and submit the results to Mr. Harald Bredesen at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with a copy to Ms. Ruken Tekes Calikusu at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by 17 March. Please note that each Donor should complete one questionnaire combining ODA from all its agencies. The donor consultations on the draft Country Spreadsheet  and Country Report will take place following the submission of questionnaires from all donors. For more information please check the Guidance Note and/or visit  http://www.oecd.org/site/0,3407,en_21571361_39494699_1_1_1_1_1,00.html.
