17-18 April 2008. Kyiv, Ukraine – UN system in Ukraine presented its latest publications during the Infromation Fair in the Verkhovna Rada. Organized by the Indiana University Parliamentary Development Project this event gathered 36 international institutions and Ukrainian civil society organizations that displayed their latest publications and materials.
This event was intended as an opportunity for newly elected Members of Parliament and their assistants to become familiar with implementers of international technical assistance projects and with Ukrainian organizations that are actively engaged in the improvements in and support of the legislative processes.
The Information Fair 2008 was held on April 17-18 on the third floor of the Verkhovna Rada. During these two days, participating organizations presented their informational materials to MPs, their assistants and consultants as well as to staff of parliamentary committees and factions. The UN stand represented publications of UN system including UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), International Labor Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank (WB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), the joint United Nations programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and materials of UN Department of Public Infromation (DPI).
The stand provided researches, manuels, surveys and publications on UN projects, programmes and general information about UN in Ukraine and globally.
