The National Human Development Reports was released in Ukraine for the first time in 1995 by the UN Development Programme and aimed at drawing the attention of the country’s policy-makers and civil society to the challenges the country faces in social and economic development. Over these years, UNDP has sponsored the preparation of seven NHDRs or 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2003. The Human Development Report is an independent report prepared by a team of Ukrainian and international experts and commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme.
UNDP is the UN’s global development network, focused on helping countries build and share solutions to the challenges of democratic governance, poverty reduction, HIV/AIDS, crisis prevention and recovery, energy and environment, and information and communications technology. We are on the ground in 166 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. For information see www.undp.org.ua
