The
conference is organized by:
-National Assembly of Persons with
Disabilities;
-UN Office in Ukraine.
-Ukrainian Parliament Committee on
the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and the Disabled
Purpose of
the conferenceis exchange of
experience between the representatives of the governments and Non-Governmental
Organizations of persons with disabilities of different states, international
institutions, human rights protection groups as to development and
implementation of national strategies and action plans on the accomplishment of
regulations of the UN Convention on the
Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
People’s Deputies of Ukraine, representatives
of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of
Ukraine, respective ministries and departments, international institutions,
government authorities of foreign states, leading experts of Ukrainian and
foreign Non-Governmental Organizations of persons with
disabilities, human rights activists, mass media will attend the conference.
Topics to be discussed at the conference include:
-International experience and
cooperation on reaching the objectives and the tasks of the Convention;
-Development and implementation of
national strategy and action plans as to persons with disabilities;
-Equality and non-discrimination,
inclusion of persons with disabilities into society;
-Legal protection,
protection from violence and abuse;
-Accessibility and design for
everybody;
-Information and communication;
-Education, employment, professional
orientation and professional training;
