United Nations Office distributes books across Ukraine
29 December 2009. Kyiv, Ukraine - The UN Office will submit on a regular basis human rights protection related literature to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
As the Ministry of Justice press service informed, Minister of Justice Mykola Onishchuk stated that the activities carried out within the framework of cooperation projects between the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice and the UN Office in Ukraine.
From the materials provided by the UN, the Ministry of Justice will form the information booths and small library on human rights protection in regional, municipal and district departments of Justice. Materials will be open for general public access.
The first six books that came from the Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva have already been passed to the territorial departments of the Ministry. Namely, the UN system of treaties on human rights, Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Human rights and rule of law, Non-citizens rights, Human rights and prison facilities, Contemporary forms of slavery.
Formation of special information stands "UN on Human Rights Protection" is already in progress. Territorial departments of the Ministry of Justice receive various international documents, in particular: Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Human Development Report in Ukraine and has about a dozen postcards, monuments and booklets on various subjects.
