Global Compact Network Meeting on 29 June, 2006 at the UN House
The first Global Compact Network in Ukraine working meeting took place at the UN House on 29 June, 2006. During the meeting Mr. Francis M. O’Donnell, UN Resident Coordinator, Ms. Ruken Tekes Calikusu, UN Coordination Specialist and Ms. Birdie Knightly, Global Compact Focal Point along with 27 representatives of the Global Compact Network in Ukraine welcomed new members of the network and discussed the Action Plan for June-December 2006.

2006 High Level Meeting on AIDS
High-level representatives of over 140 UN Member States, including nearly a dozen Heads of State and Government, are meeting this week to review progress towards achieving the agreed goals of the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS adopted at the UN General Assembly Special Session on AIDS in 2001. The 2006 High Level Meeting on AIDS will conclude Friday with a renewed political commitment and agreement on future action to reverse the global AIDS epidemic and reduce its impact.
